STAMP DUTY - threshold lowered again to £125,000

As from 1st January 2010 the threshold for payment of Stamp Duty Land Tax will be lowered again to £125,000.

This is disappointing as it will adversely affect first time buyers the most and they are important to promoting movement in the market further up the price range.

HOME REPORTS

Most people will now be aware that as from 1st December 2008 all sellers of residential property in Scotland are required by law to supply a Home Report. The Home Report must comprise 3 elements:-

  1. a Survey Report
  2. an Energy Performance Certificate
  3. a Questionnaire completed by the Seller
