Inverness and other Highland areas have unlocked around £1 billion of investment in the next 20 years with an initial £315 million investment expected in the next few years.

The move will see the rejuvenation of parts of the city with new roads and new homes expected as part of the investment in the city. While it is not confirmed how many properties will be built in the area, it is hoped that in the next 20 years, over 6,000 will be built, including around 1,800 affordable homes. The deal, which offers capital from both the Scottish and UK government aims to provide local housing as well as assisted living.

The investment in the area is expected to boost the value of properties overall in the area as well as increase investment in the city.
